  • why do i get yellow streaks after printing?

Posted by Lorraine Clinch on March 10, 2009 at 5:27 pm

I have just printed a polyester flag, colours are blue & red.
I appear to have yellow streaks coming off the printed areas onto the white of the flag.
This has happened both on the print (jpeg) and text which I created in Signlab.

I use Epson paper, Novachrome set-up, heat 200 deg C at 1 minute.

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong please?

I can only say thank God I didn’t ever get a wide format printer!

    Thanks

Have you tried a head clean Lorraine? Any of your inks low? Using the correct profile?

Are you using Epson paper as in inkjet paper rather than texprint, truepix dye sub paper?

    Hi Mark

I didn’t clean the heads, as each time I tried a nozzle check they were fine, but the prints did look as though they had a streak through (I did a nozzle check when I saw this) of the same BLUE but a bit darker, they looked OK otherwise, and the nozzle check was perfect.

The yellow streaks looks uniform in size and placement.

    Thank you for your input.

think i have just understood what you are saying. normally a bit of fluff on the head. really annoying and hard to see and clean.

last time i had this ended up striping the printer to just wipe the head.
