why cant my laptop connect to the internet?
hi folks not noing a great deal about computors other than how to use them i thought you "my mates" could give me some advice .its fine working normal programmes ….but getting on the net is taking just ages .Once the google page comes up …and that takes about 10 minutes it takes ages to get on to other pages in cluding UKSB I shoulld say im on blueyonder broadband but ive seen dial up faster !!!!Theres also a virtual memory low message that keeps appearing .

DOH!!!!!??? eh whats that nick …where you lose all sanity and kick the living s**t out of it all round the work shop ? On a serious note nick isnt rebboting just switching off and starting up …you can tell i know a lot cant you ….another question nick when you coming north of the border again i missed yopu last time when you were at knockhill

yep ive triad that nick ….and martin yep its just really started lately im trying to dump as much stuf off it as\i can ..my daughters been putting loads of music files on this …that i have noticed ….did they need a lot of memory ?could that be draining it

Brian, what anti-virus and spyware software are you using and is it kept up to date? Kids look at all sorts of websites where it is possible to download stuff you dont want and slows down your machine, put all the music on a CD for her and then dump it and anything else you don’t need or use then do a defrag as Nick suggested.

Derek, August is quite a busy month at Knockhill but I would think brian is talking about Speedfest at the end of the month which will have at least one major magazine present.
