  • why cant i get any sound out of my pc speakers?

Posted by Marcella Ross on August 15, 2006 at 1:58 pm

I’ve just bought two new speakers for my pc but stumbled across a small problem when plugging them in.
Both speakers have a USB and a jack plug………??????? I can plug one in as there is one jack plug for sound on the pc, but not two…….
is there a way around this? Can I get some sort of connector piece to allow both jack plugs to plug in at once?
The speakers cannot connect together in any way…. 😕

they’re powered by usb Peter, no mains connection. One of the speakers also works as a 4 way usb hub.
They definitely don’t connect together in any way. Both independent, not a ‘pair’ as such.

I’ll have a dig about and get a two way jack plug, that would do the trick! Wasn’t sure if I could get such a thing. So I thought I’d make an ass of myself asking on here instead of asking in my local computer shop 😀

    Hi Marcella,

Go to your electronics supply shop. They will have a mono-to-stereo adapter. Show them the cable that you are currently using, they will show you what you need.

    Hahahahaha!
My speakers don’t work…I live in a silent world.
Took me a year to fix em then one day when I was rearranging furniture I bumped something and no more speakers.
I have given up on trying to fix them.
Is that USB vibrator for real?
    hahahaha

    Hello,

Thats right weird, normally 1 of the jack plugs from the speakers will plug into the other speaker and the remaining jack plug, plugs into the sound card.

    does that make sense, lol

    Hope you sort it 😀

Well, I got one of those little twin jack plugs thingyummyjigs today, so now I can hear you all in stereo! 😀

Garrie, yes every other set of speakers I’ve had were like that. But these were bought separately and are designed to be used singley, but I’m just awkward and wanted two! 😀 One is a speaker only the VASE the other is a cubite box, speaker and USB hub.
