  • why are the colors different between Flexi and Adobe??

    Hi guys,

I am doing a sign in Flexi, and using Pantone Coated Reflex Blue
I opened the file in Photoshop and AI and the colors are muted, though in AI the color is still called Reflex Blue C (as it is called in FS)

what gives? and yes, the screen is calibrated

is it the color settings between the two applications that are not a match?

    thanks

The muted colour maybe the cmyk equivalent display, Photoshop and Illustrator have colour management, does Flexi have the same and is it turned on. Reflex Blue is one of those colours that goes ‘off’ when converted to cmyk.

    thanks Alan,

yes, PS and AI are color managed (I am a photographer 😀 ) who is trying his luck with signs….as u can tell, still got lots to learn there!

I thought that was the case, but it is not like you can set up FS in a similar maner as PS, or can you (?)

Ok, one thing I just noticed, is that FS does not pick up new monitor profiles as they are being created (weekly), or at least I do not know where to make it do so . (more to learn) (?)

While I am at it, where do I install FS printer and paper profiles 😉 (?) I have an Epson 4000 for proofing and fine art prints

thanks Alan for taking the time

Not a Flexi user I’m afraid so I can’t offer specific advice on that.

    Hi Henrik,
Profiles on mine are under Edit>colour settings but I’m using a version quite a bit older than yours so maybe different.
