I am going to name and shame this company for their sheer stupid bloody mindedness.
I emailed an order to Accent Signs yesterday and recieved a call from them a few minutes later.
We have emailed you a proforma invoice, can I take your payment details.
Why! I answered I have an account with you.
Well the last time you used us was 3 years ago and your account has lapsed.
The lady makes some excuses about talking to someone else and hangs up.
She phones back and says…We have done a credit check on you and unfortunately on this occasion you will have to pay up front.
I replied…Does the fact that I have used your company for the last 16 years not mean anything to you. I have never defaulted on any payments owed and never been chased for money!
No she replies I will still need payment up front.
Well young lady I will have you know that if my loyalty to your company doesen’t mean anything then I will take my business elsewhere, I have never used any other company for my moulded letters and I have never compared prices with other companies as your service has been second to none.
I’m sorry to hear that she says!
    OK Please cancel my order!

I might add here that my credit rating dropped below the belt due to the credit crunch despite having a 100% clean record in my business and private life and I checked this with my bank a few years ago and he said that everyone was in the same boat and not to worry about it. 🙄
I have now ordered with their opposition and Accent Signs has seen the last of my custom!
Can you afford to lose your customers like this? Stupid ar$$es

    Yep thats pretty dumb

ive had no problem with Accent either on service but always paid up front.

I always base the credit extended to my clients based on their track record of payment – its a shame they havent done the same 😮

yeah this is awkward… we are so careful with so many companies not honoring their payments. yes 16 years I agree you should be on first name terms by now and be treated well enough.

We also question an account company if they haven’t traded for 3 years and close their account. We decided that as companies do change e.g. ownership etc.

We will not take any chances now… too many taken us for a ride.

Maybe it’s not what she is doing just going about.it.the wrong.way.

I’ve been caught so.many times over the years in business that I don’t offer accounts to.anyone unless.I think.they really need it.like.regular.orders,company with several.staff.ordering.gooday, and I don’t ask for account but obviously request.the same discounts as account customers, I just prefer to pay for stuff as I get it.that way I don’t end up with any nasty surprises after.six months or so.

It’s a shame she didn’t use her.head a bit and try a little female.charm to.persuade you.it.was good.business.sense.with the account restrictions she just needed.to sell.it.to.you and ask if you could just.pay this time while she looked.into.getting.it.resolved for.next.time. She might then have seen your payment history over the last sixteen years and took a.little less.notice of a couple quid.report.that take a.dislike to people.based on figures and has no idea of peoples genuineness.

Sorry about the spelling and.. it’s new keyboard on my Samsung note and its taking a lot of getting used to.
