Is your roland on a desk or on a stand? Just asking the obvious first as the fan is located underneath the unit. Can you hear the fan functioning when you turn it on?

hi tim, its on a stand of sorts!! its one of the big plastic stands for tools you stick in your garage, ones you find in b & q. it has cut outs underneath so theirs plenty of ventelation. it did it a few times last year but these past few months its been getting more and more common!

Try brushing out any accumulated sh*t in and around the fan.

I don’t know the detail of the CX24 but if you can clear the fan with a paint brush and maybe an air duster or vacuum cleaner, it may help.

cheers peter i’ll try that tomorrow, hopefully its just dust or something, hope so, as i bet a new fan or whatever the problem is will be expensive!!!

My cutter blew it´s fan with a smokecloud the other day. Opened it up, took the fan off and replaced it with a new standard fan that I got from a electronic parts dealer.
Cost me 8€ and took about an hour.
Works ok, even a little quiter than the original…

hi marko, wow smoke clouds!!!!!!!!! 😕 mine is just reading fan error at the moment, but means the machine won’t function at all unless i switch it off and then back on again!! so not sure if its the fan or something else?? i’m going to try cleaning the fan area so hopefully that’ll work! 8€ is good for a fan!!
