Who Supplies wide PINK wrap viny?
Posted by Dave Rich on February 16, 2011 at 6:52 pmHi All
We have been asked to wrap a Range Rover Pink (don’t ask!) I asked William Smith if the 85 series comes in Pink and apparently it doesn’t. Who else does this Pink in a wide roll?
thanks

Pink cast vinyl and matching laminate will do, just show your customer the pinks available from various suppliers, job done.

why would you need to laminate a cast vinyl?

Just to afford some protection, at the end of the day the choice would be down to the customer and the signmaker whats best, of course as you know Peter any cast vinyl should be up to the job.

so i have been told lately its because people can’t handle cast as its too thin. and to try and stop discolouring as it is stretched ?.
as this doubles the cost of materials. let alone the time.

Does it not stretch as much when laminated then?
most colour change wrap vinyls are multilayer, so why would I want to buy 2 lots of material and then have to laminate myself?

Hexis were supposed to be bringing out a pink in their 1520 width wrap vinyl. Theres not much else available apart from the usual cast vinyls but the 1220 width can be a problem.
-
Yes Hexis do their Hexpress at 1370 wide, and have 2 pinks. Swatch ordered. What is the Hexpress like,??
-
Hi You can get pink wrap material from Spandex in bristol, avery 900 😀

As Im doing a Range Rover the bonnet is about 2mtrs wide and the depth (windsreen to front edge) is around 1450mm…..so I need a WIDE roll. The Hexpress is 1370mm so I may get that and stretch it. I cant find any thats 1500mm wide…anyone?????
-
As am sure has been mentioned before somewhere the Hexis can be stretched to 1700mm if done correctly. For the record we had a Mercedes bonnet that was 1550mm and we managed to stretch the 1370 Hexis to that size but needed 5 people to do it as have to have one on each corner ready to stretch and lay it and 5th guy heat the whole sheet, certainly worked fine for us and weve not had any problem with it trying to pull back.
Ordered off Hexis today and asked about the 1600mm width they keep on threatening to do and was told it is coming but cant give a date as yet.
Ian.

Yes we wrapped it yesterday/today and stretched it to 1500/1600 for the bonnet and it looks good. Ill put a couple of pics up later.
The customer loved it so much he actually kissed me! Now that’s a first haha!
