White Overprint on PC60 is it possible?
Just printed some stickers on clear static cling, and whilst clear etc they lack depth, i.e. still semi translucent.
I know the 600 can overprint with white to compensate for this problem, what I wondered is, is this possible with the 60, or is it out with the white vinyl and overlay with this?
or alternatively is there an opaque ribbon available?

Chris (Mr Sticker) came up with a brilliant way of doing them, you have to use a piece of tape when you load the vinyl in and mark where the print has started from. Then before printing, alter one of the dipswitchs at the side and it returns the plotter to the start point when done. Then you line up with your tape, and overprint.
I can’t seem to find the post relating to it, but I’m sure Chris will see this post and advise you as to the correct dipswitch 😀

didn’t know the PC-600 could overprint, i tried to do it in layers like what you do with the Gerber edge but it just printed around the image??
is this a setting in the colour choice software or am i missing something??

There should be an easy answer to this one.
After you have printed the design onto vinyl, LEAVE IT WHERE IT STOPS!
Then go back to your artwork and delete the lettering or whatever it is you have printed BUT LEAVE THE OUTLINE OF THE BOX. Then send the print down again to the PC60/600. It should start printing from the start again.Do a small test run first. 😀

overlay with white vinyl is the easy way and posibly the best.
as long as the formfeed is of and you dont move your art work on the page or remove the vinyl – you select what you want to overprint with white turn it one colour and tell the driver that colour is white print again.
other ideas screen the white or spray white car undercoatthere you are clear as mud
