  • Which type of wiper is better.

I was going to change the wipers on my VP-540. The ones on there are the White silicone type and are slightly split. I ordered some in a maintenance kit and they are just plain Black rubber. I know the ones I originally had were Felt on one side, I can’t seem to find that sort, so which is better ? And are those Black ones any good ?

Genuine ones are rubber one side and felt on the other. Anything else is non genuine. I would recommend genuine ones at about £11 each (from memory). The felt side helps absorb the excess ink taken from the head. The non genuine ones prefer to flick that ink around make a mess.

Yes these were from Digiprint. Where can I get the genuine ones apart from Roland.

Granthams are a good bunch but any reputable Roland parts dealer will help. Digiprint do also sell genuine ones too.

Yes dont buy the cheaper Digiprint ones because they are thicker and can end up damaging the head, i always buy the genuine ones from Digiprint or Josero which are felt one side and a lot thinner
