  • Which laminator would you recommend for small set-up?

Hi folks….with the new (read reconditioned but new to me) Versacamm SP300-V coming soon…(I hope) I have been looking into laminators (pros/cons/prices/hot/cold etc) and the variation in product is mind boggling. So with me being totally confused now what would you folks recommend for a ‘new small venture’ into the printing aspect of the industry?

    Thanks….

I only recently bought a 1400 top heated easymount laminator. It seems a very good, reasonably priced, laminator. The only complaints my guys have is that it is quite hard to work around compared with the Seal laminator they were used to. The guards are often in the way when both open and closed, (I know they can be removed but i dont think my insurance company would be too happy if something happened) the rollers and temperature sensors are located close together making it difficult to grab the material at times.

Depending on what you are laminating the heated option may be a requirement! If I am right in saying (although I am new to laminators and this is not the voice of experience!) you need top heated rollers for laminating roll ups etc.

Hi I got an easymount 880 some time ago to use with my sp300v, great little laminator and I got a good deal at just under £1000, its also great for mounting boards and did 91 the other day , gosh what a time saver !
