pretty much the same as you Martin, first one was Bosch, then moved on to dewalt and now black and decker but it’s really an orange dewalt as the 2 are the same company.
I’ve stuck with the dewalt/black & decker as it seems to be the most accurate temperature control from what I have been told. I can’t fit with a standard heat gun as it seems to be to hot for me so with variable temperature I can turn it down to fit and then crank it up to post heat.

Had a look at one of the dedicated wrapping guns which seemed very expensive but it they do the job and they last then I suppose its a good investment.

I use ‘The Range’ 2000w heat guns. £9.99 plus £4.95 delivery (same delivery price no matter how many/what you buy!)

I buy 5, they have a one year warranty, when one breaks, I use another one and return the old one. I’ve been doing this since Oct last year and still have 5!

I use a heat gun everyday, 6 days a week, and found that pound for pound this works out better than buying the more expensive guns which last about the same period.

They are nothing special but have 2 heat settings which is more than enough to wrap happily every day!

We have recently started using orange Evolution Heat Guns from Screwfix, £39.99 I think, have digital temperature and fan control, take a bit of getting used to as quite a low volume of air even on highest fan setting, but find ideal for wrapping after getting used to the difference. We have used dewalt in the past and average life expectancy was 3-6 months (used all day long for wrapping and window tinting so hard life). Our first Evolution gun has been going for 8 months so far. I’ve not tried any of the dedicated wrapping guns but the Evolution does look rather like them.

Bought two of those Evolution ones recently. One was knackered straight out of the box. The other lasted about an hour. Rubbish.

Just got one from Wurth which we’re trying at the moment. Not cheaply made in China which is why I suspect the usual brand name ones are breaking so frequently nowadays

Recently attended a Hexis wrapping course and they
    used dewalt and Steinel.

    I currently use a Black & Decker KX2000K

I bought wurth drills in past. Hope heat guns are better. Wurth stuff no better than anything else just more expensive. As far as i can see, you pay extra to cover the cost of their pesky reps calling constantly

We’ve had loads of different brands and they never seem to last. From budget guns to the more expensive…. sooner or later either the heater element thing or the blower will pack in. At the moment I’m using a Bosch gun and after about 3 months it still works, but if it packed in tomorrow it wouldn’t surprise me.

    Matty’s idea sounds good 😀

Steinel. Have had it for years and if it ever breaks I’ll replace it with another Steinel.
    Bought direct from Steinel UK.

Actually, the worth looks like it could be a rebadged Steinel.

I have an old shopping trolley full of dead heatguns I "wanted to fix one day" – They last a few weeks to a couple of months longest, because my guys use them constantly.

Then I got a Wurth. Been going for well over a year now, no problems. I have never had to use the Wurth guarantee on anything they sold me. The tools are good, but bloody expensive. (Especially here with our weak currency, import duties, low volume market etc.

I use Wurth heatgun, drill, cordless drill, angle grinder, pneumatic rivit gun, pneumatic vinyl removal tool, circular saw, vice grips, sanders, jigsaw etc. etc. I seriously believe they save you money in the long run.

(BTW, I also use their Double sided tape and silicone. Recently I actually had a client (Large South African franchise group) who insisted I use Wurth adhesives….
