  • Which bulk ink Epson printer ?

Posted by sconie on May 3, 2005 at 2:35 pm

Hi folks, I intend to buy an Epson printer for sublimation, there seem to be many good photo quality Epson printers on the market, can anyone advise on what spec I should be looking for, had been looking at the Epson Stylus Photo R200 5760 X 1440 Dpi A4 Usb, as I can source a bulk ink system for this model.

Any thoughts on this or other printers welcome.

    Thanks from the Loch.

    Paul.

I’ve got the r200, fantastic print quality, used on their own high gloss photo paper you can’t tell if it is a print or photograph.
I don’t use mine for sub, i have a epson 1290 for that

Go to http://www.dyesub.org for a lot more info on printers , bulk systems and the fact that a Co has patented the inks and it seems the process and are gouging end users and going after those distributors selling aftermarket inks – they also going for end users using anything else barring their inks.

    My two pen’noth….
i have an epson r200, fantastic print quality.
also for subli work we have a 1290, running an Artanium inks, bulk system.

Most of the epson printers can run bulk systems and the printers are relatively cheap.
Saying that, has anyone got a ‘dead’ C46? i dropped it a couple of days ago and the black carts pressure cover has broken off,the black ink now keeps drying out because the lack of pressure is allowing ink out and air in.
    Not good!

    regards
    Darryl

I have a 1290, but decided not to use it for sublimation. I bought a C86 for sublimation printing and find the quality excellent and it is very quick.

You can buy cartridges or bulk ink for the C86

    Cheers
