where can i source vandal proof signs please?
Posted by Neil Herbert on May 15, 2008 at 5:46 pmCan any one suggest a company or how to manufacture 7 vandal proof signs size about 200mm x 100mm that will be fixed to wooden benches outside a cafe, they are to inform people that only food purchased from the cafe may be eaten at the tables.

maybe reversed out on to some sort of clear acrylic and tamper proof screws (?) or engraved plates (?)

I would do as Lynn has suggested but using Lexan material which is about as tough a clear plastic as you can get.
At the end of the day is there such a thing as a vandal proof sign? If the buggers are really determined they’ll always find some way to damage it so don’t go making guarantees.

Thanks to all for your help so simple, I’ve been thinking far to deep and complicated.

I suppose depending on what the job is worth you could countersink them into the bench so not so easy to prise off 🙄 and like Phill say’s is there a Vandal proof sign 😀

I’ve used a two part anti-graffitti lacquer coating on a few things. It’s caustic, but it’s a clear coat you can roll on. I take it you’re worried primarily about spray paint and markers? If they decide to dig into it, I don’t think anything can stop them.

You could try Durable Signs 0871 230 1322, their ad is at the back of Sign Update mag, they do an ali panel with a clear resin face worth getting a quote.

Theres no such thing neil, if graffiti is a problem you can buy all the ‘anti,s’ on the market at inflated prices, but if its any use to you, I just cover them with normal clear vinyl, bout £1.30 pr Mtre from amari, and would you believe that most graffiti will come off that with ………Yes, T-Cut. 😉

Fatman that’s the type of thing that I had in mind and I am sure the I saw them at Sign UK about 3/4 yrs ago looked pretty tough.
Thanks to all for the replies and help.

I had some "Vandal proof" signs made a few years ago. The little bu$$ers poured petrol over them and flame grilled them. Darn expensive they were too!
If the little darlings want to destroy them they will and nothing will stop them.
I have learned from that, that absolutely nothing is vandal proof. 👿 🙁 -
How about just vinyl on 6mm foam board and chain two starved rotweilers below the sign 😀
