    Hi

I want to order a sheet of 3mm brushed aluminium 8′ x 4′ dibond or similar (cheaper) cut into 3 pieces. What price am I looking at please, delivered on Merseyside. First quote I had was £130 + VAT plus £25 + VAT for delivery. Is that about right?

    Regards

I`d give europoint a call. Should get it cheaper there.

    What, gold plated Di-bond!!

Give Righton a call – branches all over the UK.

Expect about £55 a sheet plus delivery – free cut to size.

To be fair to them if you read their website they say they supply to the public, if you contact them as a business it may be that they have trade rates that are cheaper.
I use to buy quite a bit of wood from a timber merchant and he also sold direct to the public but they paid quite a bit more than I did for materials because I used them quite a lot and had opened a trade account and also by what I spent with them increased the amount of discount I got.

I always phone around a bit if I have to buy something I might not usually use and also ask on here so I end up getting a reasonable price. Just means that I won’t use a certain supplier in the future but I don’t believe it is right to start naming suppliers on here just because they charge more than others, just highlight those suppliers that offer a good service at a reasonable price.

I’ve just Read Davids original post and he is talking about Brushed aluminium finish dibond – in otherwords Butler Dibond. This is a lot more expensive than ordinary white composite – about £90 + VAT a sheet.

i know what you mean phill, i thought about that too mate…
however, i could be wrong of course. but from memory, the "skybond light" is europoints alternative to the "Leboard" that they used to sell. (same price as quoted) but that only actually came in white or brushed alluminium finish.

Cheers guys, yes Europoint £69 Skybond (Rob must get bulk discount 😀 ), free cuts and delivery. But they don’t deliver to home addresses, even though you can get a double decker bus down our road.

im guessing you have been quoted for "skybond" and not "skybond light"
at that price looks like a 3m x 2m sheet and not 8’x4′
prices i quoted were based on 1 sheet, not multiples.
if im at all wrong, then its maybe me quoting UKSG prices…

I am happy with the price Rob, was only teasing about your price 😀 and your right, they never mentioned ‘light’ so it’s fine.

Just waiting to see if they will deliver!!

Well the cheapest Company Europoint won’t deliver, something about Insurance delivering to houses!! They only have to stop in the road and I will take it off them!

So I have four prices, they all had the option of equal or similar, cheaper…

    1. Price for Reynobond Brushed silver 2550 x 1250 x 3mm @ £96.84 + vat per sheet. Carriage is £30.00

    2. Dear David Our price would be £96.79 + VAT delivered and cut. It would take about 5 Working days from payment.

    3. It will be £130.00 + VAT @ 17.5% Carriage will be £25.00 + VAT @ 17.5%

    4. £69.95 + VAT but can’t deliver it anyway!

So it looks like £114 is now the cheapest but take 5 days!

do you not know any local businesses that could accept/sign for the delivery. If you pay be debit card and have it delivered to a local firm, maybe an option? not sure if that is ok by europoint but might be an option?

    Im just wondering,
do you not have a van you could collect one in?
The nearest Righton is Manchester, so not too far.
The nearest Amari is in Oldham.
So not a world away for you.
I have a 20 mile drive if I collect, yours is about 30 ish.

No van Steve, sporty car which the missus has anyway in the week with her work, the Europoint is in Manchester, I’ll sort something out. I am not a big sign person, no need for a van. Can’t go anywhere near the Trafford Centre with the wife or else it will cost me a lot more! 😀

    Robert,

I’ve never heard of Skybond before, is it just like di-bond and is it just as good. Funny this thread came up because I have a job coming up very soon that’s going to use loads of di-bond. So I’d love to save some money on this one.

Is it true that Europoint wont deliver to home addresses. I’m damn sure I’ve had stuff from them before.

I have orders tons of stuff from Eurpoint and they deliver to my home, maybe is the depot you use 😕 on the other hand I haven’t ordered from them in a few weeks and maybe they changed the rules 😥

    Hope not (hot)

Mark lifesigns, yes it’s true as far as the Manchester Branch is concerned, they don’t deliver to domestic premises. They initially said access problems on housing estates, big wagon, wing mirrors on cars etc. I sent them a photo of my street 😀 and front door, they then said something about insurance. I said they stop in middle of road and I will take the stuff off myself!

i just checked their website and i guess this is why you are being charged more.

unlike "leboard" which i am sure it did… skybond light doesnt come in brushed aluminium. only regular 3mm skybond does and at 3m x 1.5m sheets, rather than 8’x4′ which you are after. hence why you have been charged £69 mate.
thats my take on it anyway. :lol1:

sorry cant help on home deliveries etc but i have heard that before and going back a couple of years at least. it may possibley be some are sent via smaller van to some areas or carrier, where others are with the huge trucks and simply have a zone they dont cover in some areas? anyway… im guessing. :lol1:

    Hi Guys,

Its an ongoing issue , some branches are more flexible than others , this is not an office issue but a warehouse issue and once they have the power to say no they do it frustrates the manchester manager no end , our branch in Glasgow and probably Bristol take each address as they come , most of our vehicles are 18 tonners and delivering to flats etc as we have done was a nightmare.
Like someone else has mentioned a business address close by that your friendly with. Rolls can be sent by TNT.
proportionly there are more accidents in residential zones than business areas and that is the reason given by that branches Operational guy.

    Hi Cameron

I have seen some Business Premises that are harder to access than some domestic premises. I find it a strange demarcation. I live in a Town Centre, a road which buses go down, had deliveries from builders merchants with a hoist on the back, I even emailed a photograph of my road and house.

Anyway I am insisting all my customers have a red front door. If it is a different colour, no way am I sending stuff to them. :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

I garee Dave, Steve Peet has a couple of examples which would baffle you one home is next to a business and you guessed it , they del to the business and the home picks it up, i am glad they dont make the rules up here !!!!!
