where can i get hold of Hotmark and Nylmark garment vinyl?
Posted by Paul Rollason on September 6, 2004 at 9:30 amHi all
Do any of you kind folk know where I can get hold of Hotmark and Nylmark garment vinyl.
Our usual supplier (Victory Design) are out of a number of colours and we need some fast.
Thanks all

Hi Paul
Try http://www.thetransferpess.co.uk they have recently started selling the Graphtec cutter and textile vinyls. Not sure which materials they supply but I tried a sample they cut whilst I was there in flock which has a fantastic vevet look and feel.
Cheers

Hi Paul
Have you tried http://www.xpres.co.uk – they do lots and lots of colours for both t-shirts and nylon products.

Thanks for the web address Jim I hadn’t heard of them before.
May send off for some infoThey don’t appear to have anything to go onto nylon though.
Carrie, Have you ever tried Hotmark onto nylon?
We have tried a couple of experiments in the past and it sticks like the proverbial.
Victory say “Don’t do it” but I suspect they are just covering their butts.
I might just chance it

Hi Paul
No way should you use ‘Hot Mark’ on nylon. It does not work. We made that mistake a couple months ago. The ‘Hot Mark’ goes into a rippled effect and only makes contact at a few points.
This I also checked out with Matt? at Victory who confirmed that ‘Hot Mark’ should not be used on nylon.
Had to wright off some car seat covers because they felt nothing like nylon but when we checked with the supplier, they confirmed they were.
Hope this helps

Paul, Lee is absolutely right, dont apply the hotmark to nylon, it will stick really well and almost sits better than hotmark ….. but give it a while and it comes away … we did a few nylon sports jackets a while back and the print came away after going in the wash, luckily it was a good friend so no problems.

Hi Lee
What temp and pressure did you use
We always use the same temp for nylon as we do for cotton and a high pressure.
I’m trying some experiments now and will let you know
