  • where can i get an updated driver for graphtec FC 5-100?

Posted by Neil Churchman on October 4, 2006 at 9:06 am

when I first bought a graphtec FC 5100 – 130 the software and drivers available were for earlier models only

to get the plotter running the installer had to modify an existing driver
which is fine but we now need to cut at the full width and can’t figure out what code I should be writing on the ‘install driver’ option?

    any clues?

If you’re running signlab – the drivers for any of the other 5100 models SHOULD run full width – just PLOTTING DEFAULTS / SETUP / GET PAGE SIZE.

I ran an FC5100 – 130 for about 18 months without the ‘official’ driver…but that was a few years ago now.

    Thanks for your help Dave

would you know if the 130 in FC5100-130 means that the cutting width should be 1300mm wide?

as the plotter takes 1500mm wide vinyl I would have expected the cutting width to be closer to 1400mm (allowing for tensioning wheels)

thanks for your help Dave – I bought the plotter in Canada so it’s a bit of
a challenge getting hold of the customer support as they are 8 hours behind the UK

    cheers Neil

I’m pretty sure you are correct in your assumption.

Even Graphtec say it’ll do 1372mm

What software are you running, with your Graphtec,

maybe there is an update available!

    Hi Jayne,

actually running Omega software with the Graphtec

not sure if I should be looking for an update from Gerber
    or Graphtec

I’ll check it out some time

Do you run a Graphtec too?

Hi Neil, yes I run a graphtec, my husband is the service engineer for graphtec GB and he says that he thinks Omega only has a 4 foot graphtec driver and it would need to be altered and it maybe worth a phone call to spandex to help you solve your problem.
    Sorry we can’t help further

    Jayne,

That makes sense what you say about only a 4 foot driver, and as
I brought the plotter and software from N.America, after sales
service is a bit of a challenge.

    Thanks for the info. though

    have a great day!
