    Good Evening!

Wondering if anybody can help. I have just ordered a Foison C24 vinyl cutter and it was suggested to me that I will need a driver for it to run on CorelDraw X3.

Is this the case and where can I get the driver from please?

baz, not sure if you will find a driver as such, you may need an interface to allow your cutter to be used from corel, most cutters come with some form of software though, and you should be able to import your files from corel to the basic software

    Ok Thanks Peter,

I guess it’s a case of just waiting and seeing what comes in the box… 😀

When you ordered it did they mention any included software? You usually get some kind of basic interface software which will allow you to import eps files or similar.

The description said manual, drivers and software included so I guess this is what it must be.

They also had a program called Sign Blazer Elements for £49.99 but never heard of it.

I’ve used sign blazer for a bit now, not too bad just very, very basic.

Not sure you have the answer Bazzeray but here goes.

I too am trying to use Corel to plot from and have had some success with the freebee SignCutX2 however if you want to plot more than 100mm then you have to pay for the product, fair enough and it’s very cheap.

I notice however that all this product is doing is generating HPGL commands and spooling it to the USB interface. Corel is capable of exporting HPGL and I could save it to file and spool it myself using DOS type file.hpgl > COM4 etc.

The signcut software spooled hpgl file does however look very different to that spooled direct from Corel. I guess it must be doing something "intelligently" behind the scenes like optimising, adding panel controls etc?

Is there any free software that does this or am I tied to purchasing something?

I am afraid you get what you pay for in software. I can fully recommend Sign Tools 3 if you are using Corel, that’s about 130 pounds. It not only does the cutting, it has shadows and text stuff.
