  • When to start competing for cheap stickers

Posted by Warren Beard on November 12, 2010 at 12:35 pm

    Hi All

When I say cheap I mean long run labels on a roll (Flexographic printing)

For example I have a new enquiry for 5000 stickers, this will take me 21m of 1370mm wide vinyl. It is just a cheap paper paper looking sticker so nothing high quality.

I don’t know what they paid but from experience it’s too competitive for long runs against Flexo printing.

    So,

Is there a low cost (and I don’t mean the likes of Metamark promotional grade but lower) vinyl to do "cheap" stickers on or do we just not waste time trying to compete in this area or from where do we stop? Is 20+ meters of print and cut labels (no lamination) too much or am I just too expensive 🙄 :lol1:

    cheers

Hi Warren, I would say that you can’t compete, as you know flexo is the way to go. I would find a good trade supplier and let them do the work and just pop a little bit of profit on top.

for a fill in job when you feel like it, but i find the labour hassle time of cutting them up tips the balance.
never found a way of guillotining them up yet.

well they happy to take them in A3 sheets so not too bad.

Is it worth quoting and what would your ball park figure be for the specs above?

    cheers

    Hi Warren

We’ve done jobs like that for around £500-£600 depending on content.
You gotta give them a quote the worst they can do is say no thanks
I’ve found at times people are prepared to pay a little bit extra for the quality
