  • when i scan a file i get no output into signcut or artcut?

    Hi,

i’m really new to the business, or rather on the fringe of it. I run a computer repair shop and purchased a cutter to process my own signage, sale signs, decals, etc.

My problem is this: I can output anything i create from scratch within corelX3 to my sign application through the launcher, works fine and cuts fine.

I scan an image through an HP scanner, into Corel, save the tiff as a CDR
file, when i launch the plotter application (artcut or signcut) no image or outline display.

what steps am i missing?? I’ve gone through the corel manual but can’t find a straightforward answer to this process!

thanks in advance and regards from Guam,

    Pete

The image would have to be converted into a vector format first…you can’t cut a bitmap image

This would have to be done using a trace package..or if it is a simple shape by redrawing over the scanned image
