I was one that did miss it. Didn’t know they did that app.
Mind you my iphone packed up and died about a month ago..totally lost without it.

I have borrowed an older blackberry and can’t stand it, the buttons drive me insane….just no comparison between the 2 phones…imo of course 😉

I was considering the offer until I saw Georgio was part of the deal. Think I’ll buy myself a new iphone.

I tried it – and it’s very easy to use. but VERY, VERY inaccurate.

I sampled it with 25mm high century gothic…came back with swirly & ‘monster’ fonts amongst another 20+ that bore no resemblance to it…not even arial or swiss.

Tried again with american typewriter at 6mm high. Super picture & good contrast…again – useless.

It also had trouble telling the difference between an ‘i’ and a ‘d’ in the character recognition.

The full website version is passable and identifies a good proportion well – so far this app. is dire.

I think the fact there is an app "trying" to overcome our day to day problems is good… lets face it, better than nothing!
"what the font" and sites like it have been around for years… they will know fine if their app is poor or not and will address this issue in updates, "im sure".
its in their best interest after all…

dave, i would give "what the font" your feedback mate. trust me, they will want tried and tested views on their product.

on the other hand, if they know its crap and tell you so… then post back here and that way we know not to download it. 😀

Fist two times I used it I found it to be pretty accurate, even if it was wrong I couldn’t tell.

When I tried to show my lad how clever it was, it failed on four occasions to get even close to a clear shot of a simple helvetica style font.
