the list of mac attributes is far too long to list I have one PC and seven Macs I use the pc for router control and using micky mouse sign software- Coral Draw etc. every mouse action gives a sort of oversteer effect all a bit unstable compared to Mac system operation which is precise and accurate router PC programme has ONE UNDO!! devastatingly dangerous on fiddly jobs why nobody has written Mac programmes for routers i just cant imagine most files sent to me for output are terrible ie Cad stuff that is not welded bezier curves that have straights on them and.dxf files that were created by Harry Potter!! do yourselves a big favour in 2002 guys get a mac and you absolutely must install broadband it it unbelieveable for data transfer and net access instant connection to search engines and 2-3 seconds to find 500.000 sites an absolute must if you use cut files from clients i have used ISDN for 3 years i thought that was the BIZ.. ADSL is 5 times faster! install it now!

hhmmm i have not ever used a mac, sabaru.
so i cant voice my opinion. but i never have any problems with my pc..
is it not just a matter of personal preference?

micky mouse sign software like corel draw, not exactly made for drawing signs with though i would say
I have come to a conclusion that MAC operatives are twisted and confused people who need a bit of help,
A mac is a stable reliable machine rather like a vauxhall vectra, everything specifically made for it, every thing works in harmony with its surrounding parts………..
A pc however is made up of bits of this, bits of that, it fits where it hits, its a bit unstable and doesnt always start in the mornings………but hey neither does a TVR ………brmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm brmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

in my opinion the only thing wrong with a pc is the windows software we all use on it….

Hi Dave R you have used both huh.. hows about your marks out of ten for each piece of kit take into account crashes, speed, and internet/ email usage… we use ISDN data and net access and have just installed ADSL Broadband… it is superb that’s the way forward for data transfer instant search results! instant/ constant net access makes this mother www usable

Well the mac i used crashed and lock up amid it was 6 years ago yes PCs lock up but having built pc and upgraded macs i will stick with Pc (all 3 of them) keep asking myself how did i do full colour work on a 486 though! remember those days?
as for broadband still waiting for BT to match NTL 25 quid a month but had a go yes i agreeit brilliant but remeber when doing your website watch out for those big images and slow loading pages (for the modem users)as a mate of mine forget regular.

hi there
i was actualy trying to switch to broadband but ive been told because of my home is located so far of the main road i could not get it. so im getting an isdn connection instead. how did you find this type of connection sabaru?

Hi Robert re your last posting i have used ISDN now for about five years and untill the advent of ADSL thought it was the biz. I can send and receive at about a meg a minute which is infinately faster than normal modem speed i would not send anything over about 20 megs as it also costs about a pound a minute to send stuff nothing to receive as most of my data is .eps vector files it is not too bad i certainally could not operate Signagraphic without ISDN we are in the conference and exhibition as well as the sign industry most of our stuff is very faithfull repro of corporate id most stuff is sent from clients ad agencies so most files are good larger photoshop files for our digi printers are sent on CD as it is not cost effective to send big 80-100 meg files as data transfer items.
I would not dwell on installing ISDN if is still available as BT did what they do best suit themselves not their clients an ditched ISDN 2 users in favour of ADSL which we have at home and are about to install at the office it is truly amazing how fast that mother operates it where we will all need to be in 2 years! great forum for such chats huh hope you get Broadband in your area soon regards Steve (Subaru)

Does anybody use Flexisign on either a PC or Mac? and version 6.6 is it as good as 5.8? we have always been very happy using Flexi on Macs a great combination

well it seems this post has spanned itself over 2 pages already and my guess it will span over a few more before this post is ended. In the blue corner we have the PC and in the red corner we have the Mac….
may I start by saying I love my PC I built and yes I polish it every day (the pc that is)
I think the clash of one v the other is more down to operating systems
what with window with xp and apple with os 10.1, i think they both run very much closer than ever before. people say macs are more stable, this maybe so but i seen macs crash and i seen pc’s crash,
i see adobe programs run on both machines
however when you say pc, do you meen the machine itself or windows,2000,NT,linux
because If im correct the backbone of the internet is based on pc’s

Thinking of buying a PC laptop I dont know anything about PC,s as i am a Mac addict- can anybody give me some informed info on what to get i need it to process router files at home cad/ .eps/vector works how much ram would i need for this type of work etc?
