  • whats the best way of fitting banner vinyl?

Hi, having never done a pvc banner before, i’m about to do one for a friend as a gift, ive just ordered a 6×2 pvc white banner, is there anything i need to do different when applying the vinyl?

will ordinary vinyl be ok, or do i need a special type, am just a little worried about it getting damaged or not sticking with the flexibility of the banner

Banner vinyl – most of the main vinyl manufacturers do specific vinyl for this.

If you haven’t got banner vinyl use a good quality normal one and you should be fine
When handing it over roll it with the vinyl facing out.

As ive never done one before, i dont have banner vinyl. and as its only 1 job, and free for a good mate, i dont really want to go buying it either.

You say i can use normal vinyl, but will it be ok and last for a while?

do i need to change my methods of applying or do anything to ensure it sticks?

am the only one who asked daft questions on his first banner lol

just do it as you normally would. As has been said proper banner vinyl is best but you can use normal vinyl, may not last quite as long but will be just fine. If you do use banner vinyl be a little more cautious as it does stick like sh*t to a blanket.

As long as they’re not taking it down/ putting it up all the time you should be ok with normal vinyl.

The problems with banners usually occur when they’re put away – people tend to fold them which can wreck them.

I’ve done banners with Oracal 651, and they’ve been outside continuously for a couple of years no problems, wouldn’t guarantee it though.
