whats the best colours of vinyl to keep in stock?
Posted by John.Taggart on July 30, 2007 at 1:25 pmHi there
Can anyone recommend a range of colours that I should stock for vinyls. I’ll probably be using the Mactac ranges 8300, 9800 and 8900. Also what roll length would you advise 5m or 10m?
Thanks in advance. 😀

I would get Black, White, and a Medium Red Blue Green and Yellow as an initial stock (at least 10m of each) and order other colours as and when you need it.

Yes I agree, I also think a silver is a good addition to an initial stock. (silver metallic not chrome) I always order lack and white in 50m rolls, split into 25m each, and all other colours in smaller amounts.

I would agree with the others about initial stock, no need to go mad and buy loads of different colours. Most suppliers have a next day delivery anyway so if a customer wants a particular colour then it is easy enough to get. I normally buy 25 or 50 mtr rolls of black and white and normally 10mtrs of other colours, I would only ever bother with 5mtrs if it was a colour I had to buy in for a job and I thought I would be unlikely to use that colour again.

Thanks guys
Pretty much along the lines of how I was thinking. Always good though to get your thoughts backed up by those with the experience.
Cheers

I normally order 10m of each.
Black, White, Silver, Royal Blue, Red and Yellow.
Leave other colours until I need them.

I Buy 10 metres of black and white as I need it, and 5 metres of every colour I can possibly think of or afford at the time, yes I have a stockpile that looks like the oracal 751 swatch but its an impressive one.
