A similar thread is on the edge forum, I thought it was a good idea. After all its us that actually use the program. So we should have some input on what new features cadlink add to the next new version.

My suggestion is to have an on screen spell checker. I know it does have one of sorts, but you have to highlight the text and click a button. Not much effort I know, but I only do it when I`m unsure if a word is spelt right. I`ve dropped a few clangers, when my fingures have been typing too quick for my brain. (not that hard to do)

If when typing the text on screen, a word that is or suspected to be spelt wrong, was underlined or highlighted in another colour to catch our attention would be good. Then we could check it.

A few other programs have this feature.

Good idea, Corel does this (along with many) there are many functions in Corel that would be very good in Signlab ie text handling in general which I think Signlab does poorly

    Good Idea Becky

I’ve mentioned this a few times before – but just to keep it all in the same thread:-

I’d like to see the ability to open a number of files simultaneously in Signlab – this would allow you to copy and paste between windows without having to close down files.

    Phill,

Wish granted with version 7. 😀 Combine this ability with the separate Print & Cut Manager and “productivity” can really happen. Lovely setup for everyone, much more so though for the digital crowd.

CADlink approaches the multiple file issue with a “MI”, or “Multiple Instances” solution compared to “MDI”, or “Multiple Document Interface”. MI allows for “multiple instances” of SignLab to be running (each file in its own environment) instead of placing each file (orphan window) in a single work environment (parent window). There are pluses and minus for going either direction, but CADlink did respond to one of the largest request from their user base. New versions of some Microsoft programs (like Word) use MI instead of MDI to give you another view on the issue.

    Becky,

I agree, would make for a much nicer and productive work flow. 😉

    Becky

Good improvement request and one that I will add to our database for features as High.

Please see my responce on the other thread on multiple documents, if you have any other reasons than memory for MDI, I would be interested to know them

    Best regards
