Use the magic wand tool. Then invert the selection, go to ‘modify’ and then expand. Invert again and erase the background.

    Clear as mud!

The method I gave does give ‘no background’ but it appears white because I exported as a jpg. The width of your border can be set when you get to the ‘expand’ part. All this is done in the select drop down menu.

nik, i might be wrong here but…
you are wanting to select all the yellow.
    cut it from image.
paste it into a new background, possibly clear or whatever colour?
then create a black halo on the yellow text that you can increase and decrease the spread?

its going onto a black & cream background….so i need to dodge the cream and crop the black in as much as i can 😕 hope u understood that too… 😉

Nik, once you have expanded the selection to the required width, invert it so the background is selected instead, then use the eraser tool. (It looks like a rubber!)

    Is this what you mean?

ripped it to a vector & outlined it.

Easily imported & converted to a transparent gif, and/ or use the wand to select the background then copy & paste over your other image.

Nik, cropping and clipping are 2 different things, I think you need to contour cut in signlab, then if needed , clip
