    My brief was to design a sign that accommodated the various business names at the premises.

    The Bride Inn
    The Bridge Inn
    The Brid Inn
    The Brie Inn
    The Bridg Inn

    They also wanted to emphasise the T in the so we added an extra large upper case T to help break up all the business names.

    🙂

    When are this years sign awards taking submissions?

    doesn’t it translate to £50 minimum?

    what that vehicle graphics conveys is that they are not self-employed / run a business so escaping tax and wants to do removals lol.

    The van is terrible: lol1: but more than likely done by the van owner himself. :lol1:

    What gets me about the one I have posted, is that’s been done by a sign company. It’s what we all are finding ourselves quoting against these days on a daily basis.

    All the customer sees in the quote is :

    * Black backing board
    * Gold moulded letters
    * Illuminated brewery "T" logo
    PRICE ££££

    Basically what the customer asked for… but this is what he gets!
    You and I know this is not what we would have provided our quotes based on…

    The Sign firm will go bust in next to know time, but the damage will be done. Leaving the rest of us to pick up the pieces.

    This job is about 8 miles from where I live…

    So what’s "Tailing"….. I know that Tailings is a term used in refining ore so does he dispose of rubbish or leftovers???

    Obviously someone has taken advantage of an empty shop for a bit of advertising but do people that do this sort of thing actually get any calls & if so what sort of people phone them??
    Seriously, I’ve seen quite a bit of this sort of thing where people get a pot of paint & an old bit of board to advertise their business, or they paint their van like the transit above. I certainly wouldn’t phone them if I wanted any work doing & I don’t know anyone who would. I could be completely wrong but I just don’t see them as a reputable firm that would do a good job.

    Or more I wasn’t thinking when I did this. Nobody picked up on it, on any proofs, or the van, until 3pm Saturday.

    Poor customer has had to drive around with his van like this until this morning.

    😳

    same happened with us, Andrew had "Professional Strippers, call for a free quote now" on a painter and decorators van instead of "professional wallpaper strippers" the guy said his phone never stopped. :lol1:
