  • what vinyl & laminate can be used for long term use?

    Hi!

Anyone know where to find a similar product in europe? http://www.graphicms.com/product_sheets … vex-MX.htm

We have a lot of customers that repeatedly asks for decals to use on their motocross bikes. We´ve tried various vinyls but none will stick good enough to the plastics on their bikes.

Niklas on lots of motocross bikes the fuel tanks are made of plastic and the fuel leaches through the tank, if this is the problem then there’s nothing you or your customers can do about it, other than continuously putting new graphics on, which is good for you. 🙂

There is a way around the fuel tank problem.

If you put lots of tiny holes in the graphic, or in one case I have seen lots of small ‘+’ shapes cut into the graphic, the the fuel leaching out has somewhere to go rather building up behind the graphics and eventually lifting it.

If you want some vinyl with real strong glue, 3M have some seriously sticky materials, Mark Brown from William Smiths at Barnard Castle sorted some materials out for us. You might give him a call.

They also have the really thick anti-gouge laminate that you see on bikes.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,
