  • What to upgrade on your RIP PC

Posted by Warren Beard on March 4, 2010 at 6:39 pm

I am looking in to the options of upgrading my current PC or buying a new one. It will only be used for the RIP for the printer and nothing else as I do everything on my Mac.

What are the main things I need to look at to make it suitable for being a RIP? Does it just need lots of Ram, does it need hard drive space? etc etc

    Cheers

don’t get to worried about the rip computer till is starts to be a problem.
mine nothing special rips a 8×4 banner in around 4 mins most stuff 30 sec. i would have to spend the best part of £1000 to half it so why worry.
