what tape do you use, low/high/thick/thin/paper or clear?
Posted by Andrew Blackett on September 10, 2002 at 2:09 pmwe have all different widths of both paper and clear, BUT I only really use the 50mm paper, 300mm clear and the 610mm clear.
These cater for most of the stuff we do

I use europoints app tape – i have no idea if its low medium or high tack but it does the job for me.
I did get some of there clear stuff but haven’t yet used it so i can’t really comment.

the clear app tape from oracal (europoint) is fantastic lorraine, even copes with wet application. Some “cheaper” ones tend to seperate from the glue if wet

Well, After being on here for a while, I’m trying to do some more work with more detail and color, so I ordered some R-tape Conform clear.
I tried useing it for the first time over the weekend. I was doing some giant main text on a sign blank, three colors.
Even though the tape was crystal clear, to get it alligned perfect I had to do it wet, sorry Robert, and guess what?
All the glue delaminated and stuck to my vinyl’s adhesive. So I had to start all over. Even took a peice and tried putting some plain water on it, same thing happened.
So today I’m back to using med. tack paper type. -
We use europoint medium tack in a range of widths, I can’t afford to stock low tack for large graphics, high tack for small graphics etc, so we just use medium tack for everything. We use clear quite a lot as most of the graphics we do are multy colour, it makes registration so easy its worth a few pence more.
I don’t know about over there Gray but in the UK 3m tapes tend to be really expensive and I certainly couldn’t justify the price difference.
