We use the Troop rip which came with our Cadet and find it really easy once you get the hang of it, I think you will get on much better with a proper color rip like Troop. I’m surprised you didn’t get it with your machine.

Can’t comment too much as we haven’t tried anything else but Troop so there may be something better I don’t know.

    Good Luck

Troop seams to be the best for the Cadet, Troop is actualy Flexisign 7 pro with RIP.

Troop prints and cuts. I’ve heard that SignLab 7 isnt any good for use with the Cadet, well thats what I heard from the company that sold us our Cadet.

I use the Roland Colorip that comes with the Cadet at no cost. It’s a Roland version of Wasatch and works extremely well. It does everything I need, anyway. The only drawback is that ICC profiles are more difficult to get hold of as most vinyl suppliers have assumed that the Cadet will use the Troop RIP.

Jo Bartnicki at Grafityp recently produced a profile for their S22 vinyl for Colorip/Cadet. I’m very happy with this getting a good smooth colour range and pretty accurate pantone shades. The vinyl feels good too and so is the price.

We really like the S22p (polymeric) and to a lesser extent the S22M (monomeric) , its a great compromise vinyl , prints well etc. for the real top end we use Starrex 5-7 yr polymeric (x-film)
We actually mostly use the Roland gloss polymeric profile with Colorip, SPVC-G Hi Gloss white Vinyl as a starting point and tweak from there tho for the S22p , we use Grafityps profile.

Cadlink have done a bit of work on the driver since you bought your machine. It works a lot better now…

Troop isn’t flexi 7 pro at all, it’s a poor cut down version, the selling aspect of troop is the RIP which is Flexi’s production manager!
To produce decent graphic design you’ll still need Flexi Pro as more than half of the design features are missing.

    Signlab 7?

When did any sensible person use signlab 7 with a cadet, it doesn’t work!

….says the man that doesn’t have Signlab 7.0.

Again VERY helpful Outline as usual.

We actually ship it with the Troop DX. Not Signlab.

BUT it does work. I think people like Signmaster run many the ones they sell from Signlab?

Very nice for you to patronise many here again by telling them they need Flexi to produce “decent” deisgns.

Are you saying those they don’t use Flexi are incapable of producing decent designs?
