what software for pc-600 ?
Posted by widget on November 10, 2004 at 10:15 pmCan anyone recomend some half decent but fairly cheap software to use with a roland pc-600 print and cut ?
the software i have does not support print and cut and would like to upgrade to something with a few more features,i am using corel draw at the moment but it does not contour cut acurate for me 🙁
Is there anywhere i can download the software for the pc-600 or do you only get it when you buy a new cutter?
thanks

Roland did supply both a Windows driver and ColorChoice (which is a PostScript solution).
The windows driver you can download from
http://www.rolanddga.com/support/file.A … &ST=&ft=11
But they only send out ColorChoice on a CD, so need to see if anyone has a copy. Latest version I think was 4.1
These are basic drivers from Corel, you can print and cut and do simple spot color work.
If you want to get really clever with the PC-600 take a look at Signlab with the thermal module, but its not cheap.

if you are saying that the print & cut does not line up it is not the softwear but the pc600 wants adjusting

Can you point me in the right direction for setting up my pc600?
its not far off just maybe a millimetre on 1 side of the cut and inwards a millimetre on the other side.
hope you know what i am trying to say.
also if i do a circle the cut does not line up 100%
-
has your 600 just had a new head fitted ?
the circle not closing may be just the knife facing the wrong way
cut 2 circles if the second one is perfect then thats it else is the blade in good nick and is the ofset of the blade set for that type of blade .
did you buy this second hand or from a dealer –
sorry but the head print to cut adjustment is rather difficult to explane but can be better than a tenth of a mmchris

thnks but i think i have sorted it
got the manual from roland and set up the print and cut alignment and all seems fine now
-
nope not sorted 🙁
followed the instructions set it up printing and cuttin perfect in test.
it then says to switch off to save settings.
when i go back to test again its out of line again 🙁its doing my head in
-
might be a silly thing to ask but just in case:
When you say you are switching it off, are you doing this by using the power button on the front panel and not by the main switch on the side?
Stephen 😀
