  • what’s the going rate for suppliers delivery charges?

got a quote from a well know supplier for cut out lettering and they wanted to charge us £40 for delivery of a package that would probably weigh about 2-3kg no bigger than a square box 300mm x 300mm x 300mm, just a regular 2-3 day delivery.

I know fuel and shipping costs have gone up but this seems excessive and wondered what the rest of you guys are paying for standard delivery these days.

Most of my other suppliers are still charging around £15 for items delivered such as rolls of vinyl/components and up to £25 for 8′ x 4′ sheet materials 😕

Call fedex to go and get it for you!!!The letter co. might well charge a packing fee though!

We pay nothing for deliveries when its over a certain amount.

Only pay delivery for big stuff like 8×4′ sheets etc.

I`d say £40 is excessive. You can send a small pallet for £60.

I think alot of companies are using the fuel price increase as an excuse to increase their prices. I`m not saying it is in all cases but it is a great excuse that nobody even questions.

    Just my opinion of course.
