Today has been very productive for me, managed to get my adopted trusty old workhorse up and running (namely the Roland Camm-1 Pro CM500) – it’s working all fine and dandy now Mr Childs 😀 – had to tweek just about every setting – but it’s made me learn it back to front inside 1 day.. 😎

now back to the title… I’m sure most if not all cutters do this (I’m guessing it’s not just my model).. but it sits there when not in use (plugged in) gently hissing away… what is this ? – newbie Q but would just like to know really 😳

here’s my 1st attempts of cutting and application – I’ve also done a 60cm x40cm flood DRY first time with no bubbles what-so-ever – I’m mightily pleased with myself for an afternoon of learning 😀

    the steam is escaping 😉

it may be a fan that will stop after a while or the vinyl is left under some tension

I had to use Algerian on some lifebuoys for a glass bottomed boat, letters about 40mm wide applied to a round object with a curved surface.
went on ok but was horrible to weed.

Nope it’s definately not the fan – that goes off after a minute or so of non-use… this "hissing" is coming directly from the part of the plotter that holds the blade… maybe it’s a solenoid or something ??
