  • what method can i use for branding televisions?

    Hi folks
I have until now been branding some plasma screens using self adhesive vinyl for a customer. They now have a requirement for something a more permanent.

What options do I have here??? Is Dye Sub something I can consider??

Please bear in mind that each logo is usually no bigger than 125 x 40mm

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

You can due sub onto anodised aluminium, that might be an idea, If not then Chris has the idea, doming.

Hmmm I hadn`t considered doming. How easy is this process and what is the drying/setting time??

Also what is the maximum size you would recomend.

    Cheers

doming is a simple process but like most things it does have its pit falls.
if you have a print and cut machine, its a good add on

setting time approx 8 hours the size you mentioned is about as big as i go, half that size more cost effective

Apologies for being dumb here Chris. I do have a print and cut machine.

The logo I have to do is a a logo and then text. How would you do this?

Is it a case of applying the vinyl and then doming or can you dome and then apply?? If the latter would you just have an outer shape which houses the detail and then dome on top of that??

As I stated earlier these are to go on plasma screens so need to look the best they can.

    Cheers

print a sticker as trick as you like cut to almost any shape. then apply the resin which will flow out to the shape.

    let your imagination run riot.

    Chris
Will this be more permanent than SAV tho?? Maybe I could get some hi-tack vinyl to print onto.

I think I will buy in a doming kit and have a play.

Thanks for your help. Its much appreciated.

Well the starter doming kit arrived today and thanks to the help here I think the initial results were pretty good, apart from a few over fills that is lol.

It has given me ideas now for other uses, corporate gifts being one of them. Can anyone give me some contact details for companies who supply the blanks eg key rings, cuff links etc.

    Thanks in advance

Give Mastergrave a call, some of their stuff might take doming resin, but its mainly aimed at diamond/laser engraving.

If nothing else, may give you a few ideas
