  • what materials will i use to wrap a tuk tuk?

    Hi All

Looking to wrap a TUK TUK – will be a first wrap and used as a learning process.

See below for a photo of the vehicle.

Having read many many posts on the subject then was thinking of either Orafol 3951 with matching laminate, or even Metamark MD5 with matching laminate. The latter not being a proper wrap material but seemingly good enough where contours aren’t that great.

Prefer to stay with one of these two as don’t want to deviate from my preferred suppliers.

Any comments and recommendations on which to use and any pointers on wrapping this specific vehicle would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance.
    Macky

from the two, i would say go for oracal…
its a proper wrap material so i would say it will deal with the small recesses on rear sections better, as well as other areas.
always use a temp gauge when wrapping…
    do it dry!
your toughest part will be the dome shaped front…
if and where you can, remove any rivets, light covers etc makes life much easier and gives a better finish.

lines of text should be added after… it can be incorporated easily into the print but depending on the stretching you may do, the lines can easily look wobbly/uneven. 😀

i can’t help regards the vinyl,

but personally i’d wrap em in concrete and push em off the end of the pier, little buggers are everywhere in brighton, and as soon as the sun comes out they’re like wasps, whizzing in and out, i almost took two out the other day !

ermm 🙄 yeah, what rob said !
