  • what material was used for an old vauxhall car pillars?

Posted by Allister wells on June 19, 2008 at 10:15 pm

    remember the old chav novas???
ive a customer that has restored on nova gte and apparently they had a vinyl strip across the hatch where the numberplate sits etc and also had vinyl mouldings on the top of the doors and door pillars (simular to the ford ka etc and probably 99% of todays cars)
the vinyl used was either a matt black or on some a very dark grey but it has a textured finish ??
has anyone come across this or even used it and know where to get it from?
    cheers muchly

The stuff that used to be used on a lot of car door pillars was a black stoneguard. You might get it from KPMF but be prepared to pay a bleedin fortune, probably.

You might be right Chris, it’s been a few years since I used it. Like you say, a matt black would look similar.
