    I am looking at doing punched handle bag, 2 sided , w380 x h460 x g75mm
    Thickness 180/360 variguage
What sort of machinery would you need to print onto carrier bags and what sort of price are we talking each and what sort of price for the machinery.

    As Rob says, screen printing.

Tough market to compete with. Think how many millions of bags are produced daily, supermarkets etc…

What would it cost for a good 50000 a week production machine, what would the general cost per bag be on runs of 1000 of the size above.

Just a middle size full colour logo in the middle both sides.

There may well be a cheap / simple way of getting 50,000 full colour prints done a week – but all I can think of is:

An off set press like a Flexographic.

If you have a spare, I dunno, £500k+ for a ‘small’ one!

Mind you – would probably do the 50,000 in a day…

There’s a guy doing the same size as you require on fleebay – 1000 off, 2 colours, 2 sides for £350 delivered and includes vat. Reprints at only £150

Don’t think its screen printing as for poly bags they always mention plates not screens, could be flexo or similar.

At that price its not worth buying the equipment.

We screen print paper bags but cannot do full colour and only one side as the bags are already made up. If your after paper instead of poly bags at that qty you’d have to get them printed on roll then probably made up into a bag on the same machine – talking mega bucks for the machinery.

    Cheers John
