Hi everyone, whats the best digital vinyl for wrapping vehicle, we have been using oracle 3951 series with the clear 3951 as an over laminate, but it keeps coming away from deep joints. Any suggestions would be great. Also whats the best size vinyls to try and fit we have both a versacamm 300 and a 540.
    regards
    Greg

I had that problem too…but I was using 3m vehicle wrap material…I ask a friend that has been in the bis for awhile and he told me to use this product from 3m called tape primer…I works real well..try that and see if that helps you out..and you can still use oracals product if you still like it better than the rest of the products…

How do you apply your wrap vinyl, wet or dry?
what areas of the vehicle, and make of vehicle is it failing on?
how do you prep the surface of your vehicle before application?
once your wrap has been applied what procedure do you use to heat/cure the vinyl?

We apply the graphics dry after we clean the surface with isapropenol cleaning fluid. It is failing on the recesses. We use a heat gun to apply the vinyls into the recesses.
Thanks for all your help people.

Once you have finished fitting do you go back and re-heat the recessed areas to the correct temperature?
Each wrap vinyl will have a temperature that the vinyl should be heated to which ensures that it loses all it’s memory and ensures the adhesive has cured. This should be done using something like a digital thermometer to ensure you have heated to correct temperature.

Thanks Martin. Could you tell me where I can get my hands on one of these thermometers? I heard that the vinyl has to be heated to a certain temperature but we have been doing it by trial and error. This would explain why some parts of our wraps are perfect whilst others are coming away. Great result for the Jocks last night!
