What is the best way of bonding two pieces of foamboard together? Would Fusion work? Its for a sign going about 20 ft up, and I need to bond little foamboard letters to the foamboard backing.

    Cheers, Dewi

    Hi,
If foamboard is referring to Foamex or Forex, (brand names for that PVC),
the best adhesive would be Durapipe or Plusbond.
Alternatively you can buy an identical adhesive that plumbers merchants sell for their plastic pipework.

Tensol 12 is really recommended for acrylic plastic, Perspex etc.
Tensol 70 would probably work (2 part mix)

Nice one 😀 I already have some of the plastic plumbing glue (don’t ask why, its a long and very boring story 😕 ) so I’ll give that a lash whilst its the free option 😀

If that doesn’t work, Amari it is! Thank you gents 😀

I find that ‘evo stick’ contact adhesive works well for the type of thing your’re doing Dewi….but follow the instructions regarding use, or it is not as effective.

PVC pipe adhesive. Like Osma. Usually comes with a brush in the lid and stinks.
Undoubtedly the best stuff to stick foamex to foamex cos of it being a PVC adhesive. 🙂

Get it right first time Dew, it goes off reallllly quick. I’ve used this stuff billions of times to fix battens to foamex panels and it sticks like billio. Oh, and open the windows. Seriously.

I know, great isn’t it 😛 Used it before in a non-sign related excursion, in a tight cupboard whilst smoking a cigarette! Who needs alcohol! 😆 😆

Dewi, try Gorilla Glue, ya big ape!
    http://www.gorillaglue.com/
    Not only is it sticky,
you can do some cool effects with it,
such as dabbing it into the center of a letter on a panel,
torturing it with a Popsicle stick to get a texture,
letting it dry, and then gilding over it!
The only thing I would suggest is to use it sparingly, as it foams up
and can leak out around the edges.
    Love…Jill

Anyone remember Zaphod Beeblebrox? and also the answer to the ultimate question?

    Forty-two!
“I checked it very thoroughly,” said the computer, “and that quite definitely is the answer. I think the problem, to be quite honest with you, is that you’ve never actually known what the question is.”

Dont listen to them, especially Lambie !!!

You need to use tetrahydrafurhan for sticking Foamex or similar, available from fischer chemicals…….

only dont dip your finger ends in it or you wont have any !!
