  • what is the 74" Grenadier media path alignment please?

I have 74" Grenadier and am not sure if the media flanges should line up or not.
The problem is if you stand in front of machine the right flange that holds the media is not in line with the right flange on the take up roller, the problems this causes me is that i can not use a tube on take up roller the same size as loaded media, i can not use a wider tube because i regually run off 20 – 30 M and without the flanges close either side it runs out of square eventually ending up on floor.
Commen sense says flanges should be in line, i have noticed that the media always runs a good 30 – 50 m/m from right edge of plattern, however the take up flange is in line with the edge of plattern. There is no adjustment on rear flange that i can see.
Could anybody out there with same printer see are there flanges in line or do they have gap at media edge.

    Many thanks

    Russell.

I have the 54" Grenadier and I have the same problem. Nothing appears to to be incorrectly fitted but I have to keep a longer tube for the take up kit. I might get around to looking at modifying the fixings but it is not high on my priorities.

blimey, the JV3 runs smooth and will drift 1cm at the most, very similar to a good vinyl cutter. Is the machine Spirit level square?

    Dave,

This runs off the machine square but with out flanges on take up roller it gets in a state after 20 m or so.

Interesting the 54" model is the same, i can not run mine succesfully with longer tube for the above reason.

I spent a couple of hours measuring and checking all out earlier and basically have found that the rear roller is correct, when you load media on this it aligns with a edge mark on the platern and all is well until you get to the take up roller flange this is 20 m/m away from the paper, there is no way to adjust this however what i have done is remove r clip that holds flange on and put the centre of a roll of insulating tape on before the flange, this spaces it correctly and altough you can not get the r clip on the flange is held on by the tube.
Have not tried using it yet but atleast now if i have 914 media loaded i can use a 914 tube on the take up roller.
