  • What has Duncan been doing lately???

… Renovating the office. We’ve been talking about doing this for some time now. It was slow between Christmas and New Years, so I jumped right in to starting the renovations. November had been slow, but December was very busy. January is insane from the get go. This is a good thing, I’m not complaining. I did commit to this project, so I’m working on it after hours and on weekends and holidays.
Some of you have seen the existing layout. It worked pretty well for many years. Our biggest problems were lack of display space and functional but kind of sterile environment.
Here’s what it has looked like…

It’s a little inefficient, but we’ve been doing the painting etc. without moving everything out at once.We are about 1/2 done now. Today, I moved my computer and Anicks graphics computer on to a temporary set up and got everything up and running and networked again.

Last weekend, I got the graphic on the logo wall done and the logo reinstalled and we got Darlene’s desk back in place and everything up and running…

Yesterday, I ripped out the Edge and Graphic Design Stations and am prepping for paint…

Last week, we moved the file cabinets, vinyl storage and Coffee Stations just out the door into the shop…

I’ve moved out my and Lauries office computers to make way for gutting and painting…

The main reception wall is virgin again, ready for something creative…

So, if you wonder what I’m up to these days, now you know. The shop is a bit of a disaster, so it’s a bit challenging now that we are so busy, but I’m loving the changes and all the work.

Looking good Duncan , a nice new modern look for the "10’s", "teens" or whatever the hell they’ll call this decade

😮 mate, you have been busy. Funnily enough, I did the same thing!! Well almost.

Hired a 10m3 bin and proceeded to rip out the contents of my workshop and re arrange it. Problem is, the massive bin is too small 🙄

Now though I can fit signs to vehicles inside my shed instead of under the carport outside.

We found stuff we’d forgotten we lost!!

    Well done Duncan.

I have a whole new mindset as a result. Fresh start, new look…. its been very hot and hard work, but satisfying nonetheless.

Always a good idea to revamp things once in a while Duncan.

I find it’s kind of an on going project as you try and organize and streamline your workspace.

I put a clean room up couple months ago to house the computer, plotters and Edge as I work in a very small space.

I’m still juggling things around to make the best of it.:-?

Post the pics of the 2nd half as soon as your done.

Looks good Duncan but where do you keep the crib?
    :lol1:
I have been past your place, I wish I’d have stopped by.
It always feels great to get a new start on things.
I need to re-wallpaper out in my office but I have to be in the right mood!
    Love….Jill

Well, I’m still at it. Move out some stuff, paint. Move more stuff, paint. Flooring guys are coming in next weekend to strip the floors and rewax. My son in law is coming in to update the lighting and tidy up the wiring etc.
I don’t know when you’ll be in the area Jilly, but you’re welcome to stop in for a visit. Best to call first, I’m usually around, but I do go out from time to time. Yes, I must make allowance for a crib, as Vienna is starting to crawl.
One of my gals is on Mat. leave right now and the other tells me her biological clock is ticking. Maybe I’ll convert my office into a day care. LOL
