What forms do you use when meeting a client for quotes etc?
Posted by Daniel Evans on February 19, 2015 at 10:22 amHey guys
As per the title, what forms do you use when meeting a client and quoting / measuring up?
I tend to scribble on to paper but I don’t think it’s professional or productive, I’m now looking to create a form but I wondered what everyone else was using, is there a template like the approval form most of us use?

We use a light blue paper pad:
Printed with our logo.
Customer Name:
Address:
E-Mail:
Phone:
Notes:And a load of ruled lines. Keeps all the important information together before we quote through clarity.
As you say it looks much more professional than just a tatty scrap of paper.

Thanks
I think I’ve been over thinking these.
Think I need to go back to basics.

I think with signage there are lots of different combinations that can be had.
As above, logo and remember to take all the details. We now take photos of the place where the signs to be fitted, just in case we need to look at where that drainpipe is again.. -
We use different coloured paper so it doesn’t get lost.
Blue = Enquiry
Canary Yellow = Job SheetHelps spot them among the piles of other paper we have around the place, especially useful when you have to climb in the wheelie bin to find that scrap of paper someone threw away! :lol1:

I’m great at taking photos of jobs before hand, not so great at taking a photo of the finished article mind you.
I like the different colour paper, i’m sure that helps a lot when shifting through paperwork, I seem to do that a lot lol.

i take an ipad with me to meet clients
Not only can you put down all the info in the "Notes" App, but you can take pictures for survey purposes,
and also, you can have an archive of work in your photos that you can show to your respective
clients when explaining about different effects or materials.
I also use an App called " Invoice2go" Not only does it do your invoices, if you have the upgraded version, it already
has a quotation template installed – its invaluable, i love it and so does my Accountant :thumbup2: -

I also use invoice to go, which includes estimates, I also find that the my measures app makes site surveys easier, if after you realise that you have omitted a measurement you can obtain the missing measurement using the scale from your original "my measures" to obtain a new measurement, saving a re visit to the site
