  • what file format does the Dr. Stika use to import/export?

    Hi all
Can any body tell me what file format Dr.Stika sofware uses to cut (or should that say what file format does it accept for cutting (?) ). One of my mates has just bought a Stika and has asked me for some logos etc. I tried to ask him what format was the ones he had, but he is the type of person who needs help dialling a phone. As he lives over 30 miles from our place there was no way I was calling over there after a hard days graft 👿 lol

    Cheers

    Hi Kev

Dr Stika can only open and save Dr stika files (*.stx), and can import (*.stx) and Windows bitmap (*.bmp)

Hope this helps, I don’t know if you can export from other packages to the (*.stx) file format,

Yuk.. would have been far better off buying my Mimaki
Sorry if it may offend but the Stika is a just toy cutter.

    Thanks Lee
I did not know they could cut off bitmap, maybe I will call over to his place after all (and throw the Stika out of his window) and see what images we can give him
    Thanks

Sorry Kev, did make it sound a bit like that !

But unfortunately you can’t. When you import any bitmap it converts it into a vector outline (not making bad a job of it though) to that you can add basic items such as type, rectangle, round rectangle, elipse, star ,polygon and last but not least symbols, and these really are basic, more like shapes you find at an infants school. And you can only change the outline colour, no fills.

zzzz ZZZ zzz Sorry about that, this software is real boring.

The botom line is, if you got a stika you gotta sticka with their software, as nothing else will work (well, what can you expect for an overpriced toy !)

Nothing can cut from bitmap files .bmp are poor quality, extremely large image files with no vector conversion within whatsoever.
