    good question 😕

we run the Graphtec FC5100 and the quality adjusts from upwards from 1 to 8

we always run the plotter on quality setting 1 and it’s cutting is perfect so we have never had the need to figure out what difference it makes going upwards from setting 1 to 8

I usually call the Graphtec customer service when I have any issue with the plotter and they normal have the answers

    🙂

Pure guesswork here, but I suspect that the "quality" setting might be purely setting the acceleration of the blade to avoid any slippage of the vinyl as it is snatched one way, then the other.

A lower acceleration would give it a smoother ride.

no guesswork john you are on the button.
in the manual there is a formula against speed, size of letter and quality setting. far to complicated just press cut.

however if you want to cut 50mm lettering fast lower the quality not much difference in finish but heck its quick.

    Hi There

"1" is the highest quality, slower , but better,
