Probably a silly question to the experienced wrappers out there, but what does post heating actually do?
I used to think that it altered the molecules in the vinyl to keep it in the new shape, but someone suggested that it simply activates something in the adhesive to make it stick in the recesses.
    Any ideas?

It does both if done correctly. Initially helping it to stick bit also "casts" it into shape provided the correct temperature is reached. Seen a demo done by Justin Pate explaining this.

Different cast vinyls react slightly differently when "Post heated".
Yes, if the vinyl is taken past a certain temp during post heating then the vinyls memory is drastically reduced and in some brands removed therefore it is effectively "cast" into a new shape, but the other thing post heating does is speed up the "arch of adhesion"……We have all stuck sellotape to a surface and then easily removed it a few mins later but we’ve also all tried to remove sellotape after it’s been stuck for a few months and it’s a dam site harder……this is because both time and temperature has enabled the adhesive in the Sellotape to reach it’s optimum "arch of adhesion"……post heating speeds up that process.
I’ve seen good wraps spoilt due to short cuts with post heating [emoji848].
