My mate got his trailer back finished today with some glaring mistakes as the sharp eyed will see.
Gonna fix the biggest ones today before he goes down the road with it.

What do you think of my first Fridge Van ??

Well Goop I may not be very sharp-eyed.
But the 3 things I notice are that the Scottish flag is black,
when it seems that there was either blue paint or vynull on hand.
Also that the NSEW in the compass are italicised in different directions.
And also that the slant of the dubious font used has things going both directions in the same word. Like Smith for example.
And on the rear shot the spacing is off too.
At least there were no rivets on the side to deal with.
I wish we had those smooth trailers here.
(there is probably a mispelling in the town name? I haven’t a clue)

Its just the photo that makes the flags look black Jill it is as you spotted the letters on the compass he put the north and south on back to front the Smith is just an effect of the photo as well.
I take it you don.t like the style of the font then?

I whipped this up in Word 😳
I know it ain’t so hot.
I just think that there is too much space around the copy.
And sorry, but the font used is distracting.
Maybe OK just for the JG Smith part, with the other copy in
something less fancy. And maybe for the town name, but much smaller.
(I know the town I used does not exist!)

at a glance mate i think the truck is fine. i did notice the slants in the n.s.w.e….
the thing i would change, if it were me… would be the shsdow colour.
many folk choose black on white for a shadow.. even black on blue or red..
i would suggest med, grey on black, burghandy on red, navy on blue etc
it honeslt makes the text that bit more realistic, in my opninion.

anyway, the truck looks great mate, you should have coined it in on that one? great stuff mate & thnk you for letting us see your stuff 😉

    nice one forbie!!

only criticism i have noticed (it could be the photo?) is scotland is lined up lower than turrif!! and the nwse as everyone else has pointed out, i would have made the rest of the text a different type face from the J.G.smith transport!! anyway it has to pass my place everyday south i will look out for it!! good job anyway!! 😀 how long did it take you to do?

As i said Nik In only supplied the vinyl but I gotta fix the rest of the mistakes.
Rob I know the shadow looks black but is in fact anthracite (751).

I had no option on colour choice the client chose them and that was it.

Same with the fonts. I suggested some alternative colours thats what he chose.

The Tractor Unit actually won a first prize at the Peterburgh Truck show and to see it for real it is really nice same as the trailer the pictures don’t do it justice here

His opinion was that he didn’t want fonts with Roman style caps or anything like that. He wanted something away from the traditional as he thinks that type of fonts are old fashioned and he wanted to get away from it which I feel he has achieved as it does look really smart in the flesh as it were.

    Goop.
