  • What do you do with no shows?

Had a job booked in for today, customer advised they’d be here for 8am, all the vinyl is cut and ready to go.

I’ve tried ringing their office numbers and e-mailed and heard nothing back. :shake:

Lesson has been learnt and the customer has paid in FULL, so I’m not worried on that front.

I now have a choice, scrap it and go and fit another job, or waste a day ‘waiting’ just in case it does arrive.

Interested in what others do? Charge them for the no show? If we didn’t have other stuff on the go it’d be a day wasted. :bangshead:

Not what anyone wants on a friday morning.. but i think youve waited long enough.

Id Move on with the other jobs and rearrange with customer and not prioritise them unless the excuse for not turning up turns out to genuinely be unforseen and acceptable in your book.

Thats my two bits on it anyway lol

If you’ve been paid then there’s no problem. They’ve now missed their slot and will have to rebook.

Got back into the unit to find the van parked outside, it turned up shortly after we left to install some wallpaper and etch film down the road.

We returned just after 2, and there’s no chance we’ll get it done in two hours, a quick call and they’ve rebooked for Monday, which is lucky as it was Mondays job we installed today.

Always been a bugger of a situation this and tbh a small part of why we stopped doing vehicles last year.

I always think you get a good idea of who will be a “problem” as soon as they come through the door. Unfortunately I was never in the position of being paid and someone not turning up but was guilty of making someone wait a week or 2 before we rebooked them if I blatantly knew it wasn’t a genuine reason.

Unless it’s in your terms I’d say you always take it on the chin and get them in when YOU can. On the other hand, we work with a lot of motorcycle dealers and if the bike isn’t ready for our booked time when we get on site then we charge £30 per hour and cap it at 90 mins and only then will be rebook at our convienence.

Wow same thing?!! Almost anyhow, my client just turned up 12:45. Who pays for this morning? Yes I can do other stuff but, racks me off not invoicing for that time on the day.

"It’s always Friday in the sign game!"

Something always goes pear-shaped on Fridays

I think the payment in advance is much better, at least we’re not at a financial loss. A nominal fee for now shows is better than nothing I suppose.
