    Hello all,

Does anyone know what certificates or approvals you need to work on roads, Fitting signs to roundabouts etc.

Health and safety regulations, council regulations etc.

    Thanks for your help.

Scottish & English law might be different so can’t really comment on the Laws etc.

Couple of things might be worth checking though, I looked into this when I was first starting and Insurance was pretty high for working on the public highway. The other thing is in Fife (may apply to all Scotland) you would never get planning consent for a sign on a roundabout. The Council run their own scheme for roundabout advertising and from what I have been told price wise they do very nicely from it.

Other thing you might want to do Ian is get yourself a copy of the "Outdoor Advertising Regulations"

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have been searching and the full blown requirements are a "Street works Registration Card" I have done the location of underground apps and the signing and lighting courses years ago but looks as if everything has changed again.

The full flown "Street works Registration Card" seems to have loads of things I would not need.

Phone call to the council Monday I think. But if anyone knows pleas help.

Its for fitting roundabout signs so no traffic lights needed or obstruction of the highway.

    Thanks all.
