  • what can i use to wipe off markers on perspex menu?

Posted by Matt Hards on January 25, 2008 at 11:57 am

    Hi there,

I have a customer who has requested a perspex menu board on stand-offs, and they will write on it with white board markers.

I fixed in place, all very happy, they bought some markers, which wipe off really easily but dont show up that well.

I lent them a sanford expo dry wipe marker, which shows up brilliantly, but they are having problems rubbing it off. Can anyone suggest something to wipe it off with, or a better kind of pen/marker to use on the perspex, its cclear perspex backed with silver etch against a cream wall. so colour must be dark.

    cheers

are the edges polished ? just wondering if you could add a little strip of led’s along the bottom to light it up a bit. not sure if it’s work!

not sure on the pens either mate.

pop round for a coffee if you’re passing!

Matt, I use a piece of perspex as a white board and have never had any probs writing on it with a normal white board pen. You can get cheap & nasty pens though that aren’t quite as good. I have found that I’m often left with a faint outline of what was once wrote but a quick wipe with isopropanol usually does the trick.
