I used to make Police liveries and, although there are home office regulations on the ‘rules’ for these kinds of livery, the Forces all had different preferences as to how they wanted their kits to look and what materials they liked. Are you talking about high conspicuity materials like Diamond Grade or Avery EV? The battenburg kits you see on a lot of Police cars are in these materials but are also made using Reflexite, Avery XR1000 range………

Or are you making what we used to call a ‘Regional style’ which consisted of a stripe, sometimes with a chequer pattern top and bottom….like you see on The Bill?

As you can see, there are many options on the style of kits out there.

I certainly remember wrapping a burgundy Honda and a few Nissans before putting the livery on. We used to sell this on the principle that when they flogged the car it would sell easier and they might get a few extra quid for it as the paintwork would be mint. Oh, and one of them funny looking things…..Fiat Tipo, I think, loads of funny angles on them.

Shortly before finishing at Fineline we started to see the old bill using silver cars. Silver is the new white, I think. Doesn’t quite look like a real Police car to me though.
